Research directions

We strive to overcome stereotypes and the consequences of universalism in the study of music from various regions of the world. Our main research areas revolve around issues of musical language and the conceptualization of music and are linked to the development of a cognitive approach to this field of knowledge. A separate area has been formed around the phenomenon of Jewish art, which reflects the diversity of the world's artistic heritage. The challenges of preserving scholarly heritage amidst the changing contexts of argumentation are of great importance. All of these areas are united by the principle of studying music inseparably from the language(s) of the culture being studied, as well as a commitment to using analytical approaches that respond to contemporary challenges.
