The cult practice of the Tatar Muslims of the Krasnoyarsk Territory as a musical text
The musical aspect of Muslim worship is a complex phenomenon, encompassing, on the one hand, unchanging basic components (maqam, tajwid, folklore elements), and on the other, changeable ones (region, the individual qualities of the performer, etc.).
During the study of the musical material of Friday services (Jumu'ah prayer, 2005, 2024, the Cathedral Mosque of Krasnoyarsk and other regions of Krasnoyarsk Krai), a natural question arose about the contrasting thinking within a single prayer cycle.
The report will present a cartography of mosques in Krasnoyarsk Krai and will explore certain elements of musical text in Muslim worship, drawing on rare archival materials and an analysis of historical facts. This paper will address the questions of how Muslim Tatars arrived in Krasnoyarsk Krai and how their religious tradition began to develop in this region.
